Dude…….Flower Power

Harnessing the power of the Calendula Flower

Ever heard of soap energized by the power of a flower.  Well, that is what I’ve created over here on the farm.

I LOVE using the herbs and flowers that we grow in our soaps.

And, there is no better flower to use than the Calendula.

What makes it so special?

Well, besides it being one of my favorite flowers, there really is not much NOT to like about this little power packed posy.

Calendula is a member of the daisy family.  Maybe that is why I like it so much.  I have always loved daisies.  I found them whimsical and care free.

It packs a lot of punch into its little petals, and in 2008, was named the herb of the year by the International Herb Association.

Not only is it edible, but it has been used or centuries for medical purposes.  Most notably, it has been used on dry/chapped skin, inflammation, minor cuts and wounds, and skin issues like eczema and psoriasis.   The fresh flowers can be used in a tea to help with menstrual cramps, and it has even been used in toothpaste to promote oral health.

From fighting cancer to helping during cancer treatment, the uses of calendula seem endless.

We here at  Chosen Weeds, I have paired the power of calendula with the effectiveness of goat milk to make and incredibly unique soap that I think everyone will enjoy.

I even whipped up a healing serum made with calendula oil to help a customer with her skin that was thin, dry, cracked and bruised.  She had FANTASTIC results in less than two weeks 2 week results with calendula serum and plantain soap

Even if you don’t have dry or irritated skin, you can benefit from the healing powers of both goat milk and calendula.
